CJP PROTEST DAY 2 LIVE: 6,000+ DETAINED IN DELHI Protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) have entered their second day in Delhi, following a major police operation ahead of a planned demonstration at Jantar Mantar. Reports put the number of people detained during Saturday’s crackdown at around 6,000 or more, with some outlets reporting higher figures. CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were released on Sunday after being produced before an executive magistrate. Their release comes amid renewed mobilisation calls and heightened security in the capital. The protests centre on demands for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over allegations linked to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The allegations have become a major political flashpoint, with questions being raised about electoral transparency, police action and the right to peaceful assembly. On this LIVE broadcast, CNN-News18 tracks the latest developments from Delhi, the status of the protest, police deployment and restrictions, reactions from CJP and opposition leaders, and the wider political debate.
