COCKROACH JANTA PARTY: FROM YOUTH ISSUES TO POLITICAL AGENDA? The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) began as a viral youth-led movement tapping into the frustrations of young Indians over unemployment, rising living costs, limited opportunities and the feeling that traditional political parties were not listening to them. Its satirical identity and social-media presence quickly attracted attention, particularly among Gen Z. But CJP’s role has expanded beyond highlighting everyday youth concerns. The movement has taken its campaign to the streets, challenged institutions and made electoral integrity a central issue. Its latest mobilisation in Delhi demands the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. That evolution raises an important question: Has CJP moved from a youth-issues platform to a broader political movement? For many of its supporters, the connection is straightforward. They may see unemployment, economic insecurity, political representation and electoral transparency as interconnected questions about their future. Critics, however, may ask whether the movement’s growing focus on political confrontations risks pushing its original youth-focused concerns into the background. #CJP #CockroachJantaParty #GenZ #YouthPolitics #YouthIssues #IndianPolitics #Unemployment #PoliticalActivism #ElectionCommission n18oc_breakingnews CNN-News18 is your trusted source for breaking news, updates, and in-depth analysis from around the world.
