Elon Musk's ambitions in India are facing growing scrutiny over national security, competition and his remarks about Indian business leaders. In this discussion, CNN-News18's Anand Narasimhan examines why Musk's Starlink plans have become a flashpoint and whether rising competition and India's security requirements are reshaping the satellite internet battle. CNN-News18 points to Tesla's reported sales in India, competition from BYD and VinFast, and Reliance's reported plan to establish 1,600 satellite communication stations across the country. We also discuss the government's position that satellite communication providers must meet mandated security requirements and that no single telecom platform will be allowed to enjoy a monopoly.
