Has Yemen entered a new phase of escalation after mediation efforts stalled?

A video from Al Jazeera examines whether Yemen has entered a new phase of escalation after mediation efforts stalled. Al Jazeera Yemen affairs editor Ahmed Al-Shalfi says political and de-escalation efforts have been on hold for about three months, with fighting intensifying since August 6. According to his account, the Houthi escalation began with drone and ballistic missile attacks on Yemeni forces and became ground clashes on September 3. He argues these developments have closed the door to de-escalation among the parties involved, including Saudi Arabia and the coalition.
