Founder of India's "Cockroach Janta Party" released ahead of major protest (Oct 11, 2026)

Reports that the founder of the youth-led group "Cockroach Janta Party" in India was released on October 11 after being detained on October 10 for calling for a protest rally. According to several local media reports, founder Abhijeet Dipke and others were released on the condition that they not engage in activities that disturb public order for one year. The group accuses the Election Commission of removing about 130 million names from voter rolls to benefit the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. Dipke had planned a large demonstration in New Delhi demanding the resignation of the Election Commission chief.
