A team at University Health Network in Toronto is using the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to help surgeons and patients by creating 3D models of tumours. Adina Isenberg — who was diagnosed with breast cancer nine years ago — says the 3D models could be a big help for patients ahead of surgery. "Seeing the applications of it as a communication tool between physicians and patients... I think just has so much potential in terms of reducing the trauma on the patient," said Isenberg. Health reporter Katherine Ward takes a look at how understanding tumours more clearly could lead to better outcomes.
