Princess Aiko paints traditional craft during Tottori visit (18 October 2026)
Princess Aiko, eldest daughter of Emperor and Empress, took part in a painting session at a traditional craft workshop while visiting Tottori Prefecture. She arrived at the Kurayoshi Shirakabe Dozogun area, known for white-walled warehouses from the Edo and Meiji periods. She sketched several drafts on paper before painting a Hakota doll made of layered Japanese paper. After finishing, she said she would display it as a keepsake.
