Flooding on Koyoshi and Ishizawa rivers in Akita; Level 5 evacuation alert in parts of Yurihonjo (LIVE)

Flooding has occurred on the Koyoshi and Ishizawa rivers, which flow through Yurihonjo City in Akita Prefecture. According to the Akita River and National Road Office, water overtopped the Koyoshi River in the Morigo area. Level 5 'emergency safety measures' have been issued for several districts of Yurihonjo. Intermittent rain has brought 24-hour totals that are October records for the prefecture.
