Aleph meeting audio: 19 hours and a former senior leader's account

About 19 hours of audio recordings from meetings of Aleph, the successor group to Aum Shinrikyo, were obtained by Fuji Television for its investigative reporting project. The recordings include remarks attributed to a person believed to be the second son of Chizuo Matsumoto, also known as Shoko Asahara, whom public security authorities reportedly consider to be leading the group's operations. The report also features a former senior member who spent more than 30 years in the group's core and speaks to the media for the first time. It notes that Aleph has effectively stopped compensation payments to the victims' support organization since 2018.
