Banned sausages: Woman arrested over Africa swine fever risk (News)
A Chinese national, identified as Sun Nannan (47), has been arrested on suspicion of bringing 21 kilograms of sausages from Shanghai into Japan. The sausages may carry African swine fever, a virus that can be found in processed meat products and is reported to be almost always fatal to pigs and wild boar. The suspect said she was asked by someone she met on social media and did not know the sausages contained meat. Reports say the job appears to be a dark-web style side job from China, with a reward of about 4,800 yen (200 yuan) if successful.
