Bell AI data centre under fire for lack of consultation with local First Nations

Bell Canada's $50-billion AI data centre under construction south of Regina is described as the largest of its kind in the country once completed. Two First Nations are seeking to halt the project, arguing that Bell and all levels of government have a duty to consult them about projects that may affect their traditional territory. In a letter to both parties, one First Nation cites limited water in the area and calls for the aquifer beneath much of the region to be protected.
