The Architecture of Courage | Daniel Tri Hendarto | TEDxUTM
A TEDxUTM talk by Daniel Tri Hendarto, a third-year Computer Science student at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, on why some people move forward despite fear while others stay held back. Drawing on neuroscience and personal experience, the talk looks at how the brain responds to fear. It argues that courage can be built through challenge, adaptation and purposeful action rather than being the absence of fear. Drawing from neuroscience and personal experience, this talk explores how the brain responds to fear and how courage and resilience can be developed through challenge, adaptation, and purposeful action. Daniel Tri Hendarto is a third-year Computer Science student at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with a particular interest in cybersecurity and IT governance. Beyond technology, he is deeply interested in understanding how people respond to uncertainty, fear, and adversity. Drawing connections between neuroscience, personal experience, and human behavior, Daniel explores how the brain's capacity for adaptation can help individuals develop courage not as an absence of fear, but as a skill strengthened through challenge and purposeful growth. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
