China Releases Precise Satellite Footage of Taiwan
China's Ministry of National Defense has released detailed footage that it says was captured by satellite over major sites in Taiwan, including the National Palace Museum in Taipei. The material, published on the 25th, includes satellite images of the museum and a bridge, as well as three-dimensional views of mountains and lakes created from satellite data. The footage was reportedly shot and produced using commercial satellites developed by a Chinese company. The release date coincides with October 25, which China has designated as Taiwan Restoration Day, and is seen as an effort to promote the "One China" principle.
