Opposition seeks special Senate committee on consumption tax cut bill

Opposition parties agreed to call for a special committee in the House of Councillors to examine a consumption tax cut bill that is under deliberation in the House of Representatives. They want Prime Minister Takaichi and other ministers, not only the finance minister, to attend and answer questions. The ruling Liberal Democratic Party says its position on reviewing the bill in the finance committee has not fundamentally changed and prefers to use expert testimony. 衆議院で審議入りした消費減税関連法案を巡り、立憲民主党などの野党は参議院では特別委員会を設置して審議を行うことや高市総理大臣の出席を求めることで一致しました。 立憲民主党　斎藤嘉隆国対委員長 「高市総理大臣ご自身に出て来ていただいて、自らが悲願だとおっしゃってるこの法案の内容についてですね、自らの口でしっかり国民に向けて発信をしていただく、そういう機会を作っていただきたい」 　野党6党の国会対策委員長が会談し、衆議院の財務金融委員会で審議が行われている消費減税関連法案について「法案の課題点や国民生活に与えるプラスマイナスなどを細かく丁寧に質疑すべき」として、財務大臣だけではなく、高市総理をはじめ他の大臣も出席する特別委員会を設置して審議すべきとの方針で一致しました。 　一方、自民党は「財政金融委員会で審議するスタンスは基本的に変わっていない」と否定的で、参考人質疑などに柔軟に対応することで質疑の充実を図りたい考えです。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
