Cyber 'Top Gun' talent a pressing issue, says Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara
As cyberattacks on private companies continue, Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara stressed that developing and securing highly skilled cyber specialists, known as 'Top Gun' talent, is a pressing issue. The government told the Diet on the 28th that the National Cybersecurity Office has no record of hiring staff with annual salaries of 15 million yen or more. Kihara said a system allows recruitment at pay levels above those of general civil servants, based on expertise and experience. He added that pay, working conditions and the appeal of the work itself are also important for attracting talent.
