Electric nail trimmers cause injuries to young children, authorities warn
Japan's Consumer Affairs Agency and the National Consumer Affairs Center have warned about a series of accidents involving electric nail trimmers, which use a built-in rotating blade to file nails. According to the agency, more than ten injury reports involving skin caught in the device have been recorded over roughly the past decade. Children aged two to four have also been hurt after pressing the device against other parts of the body or mistaking it for a toy and putting it in their mouths, and some cases have required emergency transport because the skin cannot be easily removed by the user.
