Supermarkets in Europe hit by another cyberattack: refrigeration temperatures raised remotely in Belgium and Nordic countries
Supermarkets across Europe have been affected by a cyberattack that remotely manipulated the temperature of refrigeration equipment. Belgian retailer Carrefour reported that 15 of its roughly 700 stores received reports of abnormal temperature rises caused by the attack. Local media say other supermarkets in Belgium, as well as stores in Sweden and Ireland, have seen similar problems. Authorities are on alert after a large-scale attack on refrigeration in France last month, where temperatures reportedly rose to 50°C.
