84-year-old driver's kei car ends up on rail line in Fujisawa, train collision

In Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, a kei car driven by an 84-year-old woman traveled about 200 meters along the Odakyu Enoshima Line tracks before a train approaching from behind struck it. The emergency call was made around 10:30 p.m. on the 27th. The driver died, and police are investigating the circumstances.

軽自動車はおよそ200メートルにわたり、線路を走っていました。 　通報は27日午後10時半ごろ。神奈川県藤沢市の線路が現場でした。 通報 「電車と車との事故です」 　事故の直前、1台の軽自動車が左折したのは、手前の道路ではなく、その横を走る「小田急江ノ島線」の線路でした。 　運転していたのは84歳の女性。車が下り方面におよそ200メートル線路を走ったところで、後ろから来た列車がぶつかったということです。 近くで働く人 「暗いですね、そのあたりは街灯などがない。（事故発生の）午後10時半ごろになると（車は）ほとんど通らない。車通りは少ない。（現場の踏切には）住んでいる人しか行かない」 　軽自動車を運転していた84歳の女性は死亡していて、警察が詳しい経緯を調べています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
