Traffic safety parade held in Ginza, Tokyo, led by Metropolitan Police Department

A traffic safety parade calling for road safety awareness took place on Ginza Street in Chuo City, Tokyo, on the 18th, organized by the Metropolitan Police Department and others. Now in its 59th edition, the parade included the police band and a joint middle school band, with about 1,400 participants. According to the police, more than 20,000 traffic accidents occurred in Tokyo this year, and about 30 percent in the Tsukiji police station area involved bicycles.

東京・銀座で、警視庁などが交通安全を呼び掛けるパレードが行われました。 築地警察署　庄司博幸署長 「本日のパレードは、交通安全を広く発信する大切な機会でもございます。『世界一の交通安全都市TOKYOを目指して』というスローガンのもと、皆様とともに交通安全の意識を高め合い、思いやりのある交通社会を築いていく、大変意義深い取り組みであります」 　東京・中央区の銀座通りで18日、警視庁などが交通安全を呼び掛けるパレードを実施しました。 　今年で59回目の開催となるパレードでは、警視庁音楽隊や中学校の合同バンドなどのおよそ1400人が参加し、晴天に恵まれた秋の銀座を華麗に盛り上げました。 　警視庁によりますと、今年、都内で発生した交通事故は2万件以上に上り、築地署管内ではおよそ3割が自転車が関わる事故だということです。 　警視庁は「4月から自転車の交通反則通告制度が導入されたので、少しでも事故を減らすために、交通ルールの順守をお願いします」と呼び掛けています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
