GMO reportedly faces $1 million ransom demand, deadline set for tomorrow noon

Experts reportedly found that the attackers have demanded $1 million, about 150 million yen, from GMO by noon on the 27th, Japan time. Cybersecurity firm S&J analyzed a site believed to belong to the attackers and found they claim to have access to all of users' PC data. The attackers also say they installed a backdoor that allows future access to this data. GMO did not disclose the amount but acknowledged the demand and said it will not comply with the attackers' request.
