Vulnerability flagged two years ago; GMO president to hold press conference on Nov. 2
A subsidiary security firm of GMO Internet Group reportedly flagged vulnerabilities in an investor service two years ago, according to sources. The service, used for automated trading of various currencies, was the target of unauthorized access in a recent incident. The subsidiary pointed out the issues in April 2024, and the measures taken at the time were later judged to be insufficient. The group announced that President Masatoshi Kumagai and other executives will hold their first press conference since the problem came to light, on November 2.
