How newsrooms quietly reproduce racism | Nina Robinson | TEDxMoseley
Journalist Nina Robinson examines how everyday newsroom practices can unintentionally reinforce racism, even when reporters believe they are simply reporting facts. Drawing on years of work in local, national and international newsrooms, the talk looks at how routine editorial choices shape public perception and which stories society chooses to tell. The talk was given at TEDxMoseley, an independently organised TEDx event. Robinson is a Peabody Award winner who has worked on global news and current affairs for the BBC World Service, and she now runs a podcast production company in Birmingham. The talk is presented as a look at media bias and journalism rather than a report on a specific news event.
