I Thought I Was Just Lucky | Nashwa Zaidarahman | TEDxCRIBS Youth
Nashwa Zaidarahman, an eighth-grade student at Cahaya Rancamaya IBS, talks about feeling like an impostor despite her own successes. She describes how taking a step back and reflecting on her experiences helped her stop letting self-doubt get in the way. The talk argues that confidence does not mean never doubting yourself, but rather not letting doubt erase what you have accomplished. It encourages viewers to remember their effort, mistakes and persistence when they attribute success only to luck. This TEDx talk was independently organized by a local community under the TED conference format.
In this video- A student's experience of feeling like an impostor despite success
- Why effort matters alongside luck
- Using self-reflection to manage self-doubt
- Being proud of progress while still figuring out next steps
Confidence doesn’t mean never doubting yourself, but it means not letting that doubt erase what you have accomplished. So next time you think, “I was just lucky,” remember the effort, the mistakes, and the times you kept going. Because luck can be part of your story. But your effort is part of it too. So just be proud of how far you've come, even if you're still figuring out where you're going. Nashwa is an eighth-grade student in Cahaya Rancamaya IBS who likes trying something new or even achieving it. But fun fact, she sometimes felt like an impostor despite her own success. But then, she took a step back, did some self-reflection and stopped letting that doubt annoy her.
