Fishing boat runs aground; two crew members die after falling into sea

A small fishing boat ran aground on a coast in Kitaibaraki, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Two crew members in their 50s fell into the sea and later died after being reported in serious condition. The 91-year-old captain, who was also aboard, is reported to be conscious and able to talk. Wave advisories had been issued in the area at the time, and the Ibaraki Coast Guard is investigating the situation.

茨城県北茨城市の海岸で船が座礁し、乗組員2人が海に転落しました。その後2人は死亡しています。 　7日午前8時50分ごろ、北茨城市中郷町の海岸で「船が座礁している」と通報がありました。 　茨城海上保安部によりますと、船は小型の漁船で、91歳の船長と50代の乗組員2人、合わせて3人が乗っていました。 　乗組員は船長の息子と娘で、この2人が海に転落し、その後、死亡が確認されました。 　船長は意識があり、会話ができる状態だということです。 漁業関係者 「朝方のほうが干潮なのでもっとうねりが高かったと思います」 　当時、周辺では波浪注意報が発表されていました。 　茨城海上保安部が詳しい状況を調べています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
