Mother denies charges at first hearing in Inuyama child abuse death case

The first hearing was held at the Nagoya District Court in the case of a first-grade elementary school girl who died from abuse in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture, two years ago. The mother, Minami Shimazaki, denied the charges in the indictment. According to the indictment, her common-law husband, Kai Kurata, assaulted the girl, and the girl died of septic shock after her illness was left untreated. In its opening statement, the prosecution said the defendant should have taken the girl to a hospital promptly and had made false reports to a child consultation center.

おととし、愛知県犬山市で小学1年の女の子が虐待死した事件で、母親の初公判が開かれ、母親は起訴内容を否認しました。 　起訴状によりますと、岐阜県本巣市の無職・島崎みなみ被告（35）はおととし5月、内縁の夫である倉田凱被告（34）が娘の奈桜さん（7）の腹を殴るなどの暴行を加え、体調不良を訴えていたにもかかわらず放置し、敗血症性ショックで死亡させたなどの罪に問われています。 　名古屋地裁で開かれた初公判で、島崎被告は「夫が強い暴行を加えたとは認識していなかった」などと起訴内容を否認しました。 　続く冒頭陳述で、検察側は「被告は奈桜さんを病院に速やかに連れていく必要があったほか、児童相談所に虚偽の申告をしていた」と指摘しました。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
