Iran rejects nuclear talks before war outcomes are settled, analyst says

Hassan Ahmadian, a Middle East studies professor at the University of Tehran, says Iran is following a strategy of preparing for war to prevent it, while seeking a diplomatic exit without weakening its field readiness. The central dispute in current negotiations, he explains, involves US insistence on including the nuclear file in any deal, which Tehran rejects until the consequences of the current escalation are addressed. Iran also opposes a clause that would keep a naval corridor escorting commercial ships by US Central Command south of the Strait of Hormuz.
