Iwai Cosmo Securities hit by unauthorized access; unintended trades executed for some customers

Japanese brokerage Iwai Cosmo Securities said unauthorized access to an external contractor led to unintended buy and sell orders on customer accounts, some of which were executed. The firm first reported the leak of names and other personal data of about 4,600 customers, and later found 364 more affected customers, bringing the total to roughly 5,000. According to the company, the affected transactions have been restored to their pre-trade state and customers have not borne any cost.

岩井コスモ証券は不正アクセスによって顧客の意図しない売買注文が行われ、その一部が成立していたと発表しました。 　岩井コスモ証券は16日、インターネット取引のシステム運用などを委託している外部企業への不正アクセスにより、顧客約4600人分の氏名などの個人情報が外部に漏洩（ろうえい）したと発表していました。 　その後、さらに調べた結果、不正アクセスがあった14日に売買管理システムへの攻撃が発生していたということです。 　7つの口座で顧客の意図しない売買注文が発注され、そのうち5つの口座で取引成立を確認したとしています。 　また、新たに364人の顧客の情報漏洩が判明し、合わせておよそ5000人の情報が漏洩したことも明らかにしました。 　対象の顧客については、すでに取引前の状態に戻す措置を完了していて、顧客の負担は生じていないということです。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
