JAL and ANA interim results: fuel price rise cuts net profit while sales exceed last year
Japanese airlines JAL and ANA have released their interim financial results for fiscal 2026. Both companies reported higher revenue than a year earlier, with JAL posting 1.0989 trillion yen and ANA 1.3987 trillion yen. Net profit fell at both carriers, which the report attributes mainly to higher fuel prices linked to tensions in the Middle East.
In this video- JAL's first-half revenue of 1.0989 trillion yen is its highest since its 2012 re-listing; its net profit fell 42.2% year on year to 39 billion yen.
- ANA's revenue of 1.3987 trillion yen is a record; its net profit fell 11.8% to 67 billion yen.
- Rising fuel prices are cited as the main factor behind the decline in net profit.
