JAL plane cancels flight after unidentified small animal found in cockpit

A JAL passenger plane had a flight cancelled at Fukuoka Airport on the 19th. While the crew prepared for departure, a pilot found an unidentified small animal in the cockpit, which could chew through electrical wiring and affect safe operation. On the 20th, a snake about 40 centimetres long was found under the cabin carpet. The entry route is still being investigated, and the aircraft will resume service once its safety is confirmed.

■コックピットに“謎の小動物” 運航会社（日本エアコミューター） 「こういった事例は過去に聞いたことがない」 　19日、福岡空港でJALの旅客機が欠航しました。 　午後0時50分発の鹿児島行きの便で、理由は…。 運航会社（日本エアコミューター） 「コックピットの足元に小動物らしきものを見掛けた」 　出発準備中にパイロットがコックピットで見つけたのは“正体不明”の「小動物」でした。 　電気配線をかみちぎるなど安全な運航に支障をきたす恐れがあり、便は欠航となりました。 　丸1日以上見つからなかった小動物ですが、20日午後、客室のカーペットの下から体長40センチほどの“ヘビ”が見つかりました。 　侵入経路は確認中とのことです。 　この機体は安全性を確認したうえで運航を再開する方針です。
