Hayashi launches lawmakers' group to support Japan's cosmetics industry amid Korean beauty competition, with PM Takaichi joining

Former Japanese Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi of the Liberal Democratic Party has set up a cross-party lawmakers' group to support Japan's cosmetics industry, which faces strong competition from Korean beauty products. More than 40 lawmakers attended the founding meeting, and Prime Minister Takaichi is expected to join as senior adviser. In the near term, the group plans to discuss strategies for overseas expansion of cosmetics and beauty services and a review of regulations.

自民党の林芳正前総務大臣が韓国コスメと激しく争う日本の化粧品業界などを支援する議員連盟を設立しました。高市総理大臣も最高顧問として参加する予定です。 林前総務大臣 「どうもK（韓国）ビューティーっていうのに押されちゃってて、何とかならないのかと。それが最初の発端でございます。衛生管理についても品質についても世界随一を誇る我が国のJ（日本）ビューティー、化粧品をはじめとする物やサービスでございますが、少しマーケティング世界に向けてというところがもう少し強化する余地があるのではないかと。これは必ずやですね、成長産業であり、また外貨をしっかりと獲得できる、そういう産業になるポテンシャルを大いに秘めていると」 　会長に就任した林氏は、これまでも美容産業を支援するための研究会を開いていて、16日の議連の設立総会には40人以上の議員が参加しました。 　当面は、化粧品やエステなどの海外展開に向けた戦略作りや規制の見直しなどについて議論する方針です。 　議連幹部によりますと、高市総理に最高顧問への就任を前提に入会を打診し、参加が決まったということです。 　高市総理は就任会見の際に韓国コスメを使っていると明かしましたが、会合に参加した日本化粧品工業会の小林会長によりますと、今は日本の化粧品を使っているということです。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
