Japanese Imperial Couple Hold Tea Meeting with Thai Queen at Imperial Palace

Emperor and Empress of Japan hosted Thai Queen Sthida for tea and conversation at the Imperial Palace. On the 20th, they greeted the queen with smiles and exchanged handshakes and greetings in English upon her arrival. The talks over tea lasted about 50 minutes. The meeting was the first between the Japanese Imperial couple and the Thai queen.

天皇皇后両陛下が来日中のタイ王妃をお茶に招き、御所で懇談されました。 　両陛下は20日、御所に到着したタイのスティダー王妃を笑顔で出迎え、握手をしながら英語であいさつを交わされました。 　その後、お茶をしながら50分ほど懇談されました。 　両陛下とスティダー王妃の面会はこれが初めてです。 　スティダー王妃はタイ国際航空の客室乗務員を経て陸軍に入り、その後、国王護衛部隊の副司令官を務めていました。 　14日に自身が操縦する王室の専用機で到着し、日本を初めて公式訪問しています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
