Filipino mountaineer Jeno Panganiban talks about the preparation behind reaching the summit of Mount Everest. He describes years of training, sacrifice, fear and homesickness, and argues that the real goal of a climb is to return home safely. The talk encourages viewers to identify their own Everest and the unseen daily effort that leads to it. Panganiban is one of only 11 Filipinos to have reached the summit of Everest and is noted as the youngest Filipino man to do so in nearly two decades. The talk was given at an independently organized TEDxSJCS Youth event.

- Coming home safely as the real goal
- Finding one's own Everest and the unseen daily effort behind it
In this talk, Jeno Panganiban shares what really happens before someone stands on top of Mount Everest. Drawing from his own climb as a Filipino mountaineer, he talks about the years of training, sacrifice, fear, and homesickness behind the summit photo, and why the real goal was never just to reach the top but to come home safely. More than a climbing story, this talk invites us to name our own Everest and find our 4 AM: the small, unseen things we do when nobody is watching. Because whatever your Everest is, climb it anyway. A distinguished mountaineer who etched his name in history by reaching the summit of Mount Everest, he is one of only 11 Filipinos to have accomplished this extraordinary feat. Notably, he is the youngest Filipino man to summit Everest in nearly two decades—an achievement that exemplifies courage, resilience, and perseverance. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
