Kagoshima kindergarten teacher murder case: defendant's first trial, admits charges

The first trial was held for a man, a high school student at the time, accused of killing a female nursery teacher on Tokunoshima island in Kagoshima Prefecture. The man admitted to the charges in the indictment. Prosecutors pointed to a motive of acting out of despair and a vague intent to kill someone and sought criminal punishment. The defence argued he should be sent to a juvenile reformatory for rehabilitation.

おととし鹿児島県の徳之島で保育士の女性を殺害した罪に問われている当時高校生だった男の初公判が行われ、男は起訴内容を認めました。 　起訴状によりますと、当時高校生で現在19歳の男はおととし11月、徳之島伊仙町に住む保育士・菊池房子さん（55）の自宅に窓から侵入し、帰宅してきた菊池さんの胸などを刃渡りおよそ12センチの包丁で数回突き刺し、殺害した罪に問われています。 　初公判で男は「間違いないです」と起訴内容を認めました。 　動機について検察側は「自暴自棄になって漠然と人を殺そうと思い、犯行に至った」と指摘、刑事罰を求めたのに対し、弁護側は矯正のため少年院送致にすべきと主張しています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
