Four Anglers Fall Off Breakwater in Kashima: Three Rescued, One Dead, One Missing

Four people fishing from the north end of a breakwater at a fishing port near Hirai Beach in Kashima, Ibaraki Prefecture, were swept into the sea. Surfers and the Japan Coast Guard rescued three of them, but one of those was confirmed dead. The fourth person remains missing and police are continuing the search. A wave advisory was in effect in the area at the time.

茨城県鹿嶋市の海岸で釣りをしていた4人が海に転落しました。3人が救助されましたが、このうちの1人が死亡し、1人が行方不明になっています。 　鹿島海上保安署などによりますと、1日午後3時半ごろ、茨城県鹿嶋市の平井海水浴場の近くの漁港の防波堤で、目撃者から「大波を受けて海中に人が転落した」と通報がありました。 　転落したのは堤防の北側の端で釣りをしていたインドネシア国籍の4人で、付近にいたサーファーや海上保安庁により3人が救助されましたが、このうちの1人の死亡が確認されました。 　今も残る1人が行方不明になっていて、警察などが捜索を続けています。 　当時、この付近には波浪注意報が出ていました。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
