Tokyo Governor Koike rides superconducting maglev for first time

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike took a test ride on the superconducting maglev train being tested in Yamanashi Prefecture. She visited the Yamanashi Linear Center, where test runs for the Chuo Shinkansen maglev line are underway, and observed high-speed running with Yamanashi Governor Nagasaki. She experienced the ride at a top speed of 500 km/h for the first time. Koike said that a 26-minute trip from Shinagawa to Kofu would make commuting feasible, and the metropolitan government plans town development around Shinagawa Station.

東京都の小池知事が山梨県で走行試験が行われている超電導リニアに試乗しました。 　小池知事は19日、リニア中央新幹線の走行試験が行われている山梨リニアセンターを訪れました。 　山梨県の長崎知事とリニアの高速走行を視察したほか、最高時速500キロの乗り心地を初めて体験しました。 小池百合子都知事 「わずか26分、品川から（甲府まで）ということで、もう通勤圏になるということですね。そのことをこれまで机上で見ていましたけれど、この速さでそれが実現するんだなということで期待しております」 　都は「リニアの整備効果を最大限に生かす街づくりを品川駅周辺などで進めていく」としています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
