Pianist Kyohei Sorida sentenced to 3 months in prison, suspended for 2 years

The Tokyo District Court has sentenced pianist Kyohei Sorida to three months in prison, suspended for two years. He was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act for driving at 144 km/h on the Metropolitan Expressway in Meguro, Tokyo, 84 km/h above the speed limit, in December of last year. The ruling was announced at a hearing that began at 1:15 p.m. on the 29th. On his official website, Sorida apologized for damaging public trust through a careless act.
