Autumn Foliage at Lake Yamanaka at the Foot of Mount Fuji Reaches Peak, Illuminations Until November 15
Autumn leaves are at their peak along the shore of Lake Yamanaka at the foot of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture. Maple, Japanese maple and beech trees along a roughly 1-kilometer lakeside path have turned red and yellow, with snow-capped Mount Fuji in view. The Yamanaka Yuyake no Nagisa Momiji Festival is held in a lakeside park and will run until November 15, with evening illuminations. Foliage reached its usual timing after concerns over long rains in September.
