Lawmaker-ministry contacts: opposition seeks records; PM Takaichi says no plans
Debate arose over whether contacts between lawmakers and government ministries about budget allocations should be recorded. Komeito Upper House member Hiraki urged revising the guidelines so that records are always made and kept when such contact occurs. Prime Minister Takaichi said that requiring records uniformly is not being considered at present, and noted that she had recently ordered a review of how budget changes are disclosed.
