Officers contacted the occupants of the vehicle, both of whom initially provided false identification. The passenger was later identified as 34-year-old Alberto Diaz Garcia of Covina. When officers attempted to remove Garcia from the vehicle, he claimed to be experiencing a medical emergency. Officers observed a knife in Garcia's back pocket and removed it for their safety.
