Tehran security summit with Mecca Alliance; Rezaei affirms collective security principle

Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said a quadrilateral meeting with Mecca Agreement countries reached an understanding to strengthen collective security and regional stability through regional states alone and to prevent foreign military interference. Iran's Foreign Ministry said the talks also addressed opposing Israeli attacks in Palestine and southern Lebanon. The discussions covered tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the conflict in Yemen, following a visit by a Qatari delegation and an inspection tour by Iran's chief of staff of Gulf islands and waters.
