Mounjaro Weight-Loss Use Spreads from South Korea to Japan, Raising Health Concerns

The diabetes drug Mounjaro is increasingly being used for weight loss around the world. In South Korea, prescriptions reportedly rose 22-fold within a year, with reports of use by people who are not overweight and of adverse health effects. The report visits an area of Seoul known as a Mounjaro hub, where 34 pharmacies line 500 metres and prescriptions are issued after very brief consultations. It also covers buyers who travel to a clinic in Fukuoka to purchase the cheaper Japanese version.
