Former nurse arrested on suspicion of burglaries using medical records in Nagano

A former nurse is suspected of repeatedly breaking into the homes of hospital patients in Nagano Prefecture. Sato Kai, 29, a former nurse at Saku Central Hospital's medical center, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and theft. Police believe he may have used medical record information to identify elderly people living alone who were hospitalized, and are investigating other cases. The hospital's director apologized to the victims.
