Chunichi Dragons mascot Doara considered for Nagoya license plate design

Nagoya city plans to introduce original license plates from November of next year. Four design candidates depicting local motifs are under consideration, and one features Doara, the mascot of the professional baseball team Chunichi Dragons. The city said the team has high recognition and popularity in the Tokai area and that the design was chosen for its broad appeal. A public survey of residents in the eligible Nagoya plate area will begin next month to narrow the options to one design.
