Five pedestrians hit by car in Naruko Onsen; 73-year-old driver arrested

In Naruko Onsen, Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, five pedestrians walking on a sidewalk were hit by a car, and two women were seriously injured. The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. on the 1st, during the autumn foliage season when many tourists were visiting. Police arrested the 73-year-old male driver on suspicion of negligent driving causing injury.
