Nidec to seek damages from nine former executives over accounting irregularities

Motor maker Nidec announced it will seek compensation from nine former executives, including founder Shigenobu Nagamori, over accounting irregularities. The amount claimed and the timing of any lawsuit are still under consideration. An external investigation committee concluded that the nine people are liable for losses of about 27.6 billion yen suffered by the company. The company recorded a record net loss of 564.6 billion yen in the previous fiscal year and has been designated a Special Alert issue by the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
