Nozomi fares rise for first time: ¥700 more between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka

Fares for reserved seats on the Nozomi service of the Tokaido Shinkansen are set to rise for the first time. According to JR Central, the increase will take effect from July next year. A standard reserved seat between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka will cost 15,420 yen, which is 700 yen more than now. The reasons given include inflation and rising costs linked to service improvements.
