Depth of Political and Social Polarization Among Americans in Ohio - The Dividing Line

The third part of Al Jazeera Arabic's "The Dividing Line" series examines the depth of intellectual and political polarization in American society in Ohio. The report compares the liberal university town of Athens with the conservative rural town of Zanesville through on-the-ground reporting. It documents sharp generational differences in priorities and beliefs, from conservatives' support for gun ownership and opposition to government aid and taxes, to young liberal students who volunteer at food banks. These students call for funding to go to public services and healthcare instead of the interests of the wealthy.
