Description from TEDx Talks

This talk explores how the pursuit of perfection can become one of the biggest obstacles to creativity. It examines how society’s discomfort with uncertainty shapes what we choose to create and what we hold back. Through reflections on art, experimentation and the creative process, it challenges us to rethink our relationship with failure and embrace the freedom that comes with making mistakes. At its heart is a question: are we waiting for permission to create, when the most important step is simply to begin? Meet Yashvi Velidi, an IBDP 1 student with a passion for art, literature, and dance. As a naturally curious and creative person, Yashvi enjoys exploring ideas and bringing them to life while also finding inspiration in the little things around her. When she’s not dancing or lost in a book, you’ll often find her designing, creating, and putting together events. These creative activities have taught her to enjoy the spontaneity, experimentation, and the imperfect moments that make something truly meaningful. Through her TEDx talk, Yashvi hopes to explore what happens when we stop waiting for permission to create and give ourselves the freedom to simply begin. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
