Princess Aiko, eldest daughter of Emperor and Empress of Japan, met with residents affected by a typhoon that caused serious damage three years ago while visiting Tottori Prefecture. In Saji town in Tottori City, heavy rain from Typhoon No. 7 brought down bridges and roads, and some communities were isolated. After receiving an explanation of the recovery situation from prefectural officials, the princess spoke with victims who had served as the head of an isolated community at the time.

鳥取県を訪問中の天皇皇后両陛下の長女・愛子さまが、3年前に大きな被害をもたらした台風の被災者らと懇談されました。 　愛子さまは19日午前10時ごろ、鳥取市佐治町に到着されました。 　山あいにある佐治町は、3年前の台風7号による大雨で橋や道路が崩落し、一部の集落が孤立しました。 　愛子さまは県の職員から復旧状況について説明を受けられました。 　その後、当時孤立した集落の区長を務めていた被災者らと懇談されました。 　元区長はかつて社会福祉協議会で働いていて、孤立した際には集落の住民の安否確認に取り組みました。 　愛子さまは「災害の際に活動されるにあたって、いきたことはありますか」と質問されていました。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
