Causes of explosions on Qeshm Island and near the Strait of Hormuz

Iranian media reported hearing explosions in two separate incidents near the Strait of Hormuz. The first was on Qeshm Island, where an Iranian air defence platform is considered a possible target, after the Revolutionary Guard said it had shot down three drones from the island. The second was a blast heard in the strait waters off Bandar Lengeh, which may have involved a mine striking a passing ship or an attack on it, amid tensions between Tehran and Washington.
